Quick post to let you know that I am still here & working on this site.
I was recently on the road for several days. Stopped at a few attractions along Route 66. Love to see that some are still there. Also managed to catch a few attractions in Texas & Louisiana.
There were more stops planned, but sometimes things happen. Originally the road trip was suppose to take me from Indiana up through New Hampshire & Maine and then across to Georgia. From there, the trip was suppose to take me through Louisiana, Texas, & back up towards home (Indiana).
Had vehicle & kids all packed. Plans made to spend several days to rest & catch up on website work at an awesome place in NH.
I have to say I absolutely LOVE Mt Liberty Lodging in NH. Beautiful, relaxing, & run by awesome folks. I love it so much I hesitated mentioning the name of the place. Now don’t go booking up the part I like to stay if I want to get up there! 🙂
So anyway, we get to mid Ohio & of course, the dreaded vehicle problems strike again. Some of you may remember last year about the same time, my van completely broke down in OH. We just picked up a vehicle before this trip & once again, had issues. I am beginning to wonder if Ohio either has something against me or if they love me so much they are trying to break me down & keep me. 🙂 Either way, I headed back home.
I was thankful that I was able to simply drive back home this time without dealing with a tow truck & my husband having to make a trip to rescue me. Once I got home, we soon realized there was a bigger, potentially dangerous problem with the Blazer. We realized there was a part that was going bad & this part had actually been recalled.
Okay. Sad, but still thankful that I hadn’t ended up along the side of the road or worse. Out of the blue, my step-mother insists that I use her car to at least get a little bit of work & stuff done in the Texas end of the trip.
I should point out that I had thought going from a mini van to the room inside the Blazer would take some getting use to, but I hadn’t seen anything until I went to pack her car. Oh my! It came to be called the “little people car”. I may not be real tall, but I’m definitely not little. It was comical watching me trying to unfold my body to get up out of her car; not to mention the kids thought it was hysterical that I kept cracking my head on the roof while sitting in the driver’s seat. My stepmother is a little woman in her 80’s, so it perfect sized for her. Me? Well it was funny.
So we obviously had to repack & figure out what we could fit in the car. Shoo! It was tight, especially with 2 teenagers & a 9 year old. We did it though.
After a few days in Texas, we headed to Louisiana. Unfortunately, we had to head home immediately since my grandson was starting to get sick. Oh well, managed to hit a few places.
Who knows, maybe I will be able to get back on the road soon.
