*Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year’s Day
NOTES:
*Drive to the zoo entrance gate, show your zoo receipt, & let them know you want to visit the shrine.
*The road up is small, winding, & steep. Drive slow & carefully.
*Once at the top, there are a lot of stairs to climb if you want to visit the actual shrine & small museum inside.
*The shrine is a 1.4 mile from the Zoo’s entrance.
*The road up to the site is a drive only road.
*Site may close without notice due to weather conditions.
*The ashes of Spencer & Julie Penrose are interned in the lower level of the shrine. (founder of the zoo, Broadmoor Hotel, etc)
